McGovern in N.D. to promote book

Former South Dakota Sen. George McGovern will make two appearances in North Dakota to promote his latest book. “Abraham Lincoln,” about the nation’s 16th president, was released in December.

BISMARCK (AP) — Former South Dakota Sen. George McGovern will make two appearances in North Dakota to promote his latest book.

“Abraham Lincoln,” about the nation’s 16th president, was released in December.

McGovern, a three-term senator and the 1972 Democratic presidential nominee, will speak Sept. 8 at Dickinson State University and Sept. 9 at the North Dakota Heritage Center in Bismarck. Both events are free to the public.
