Letter to the editor: Jamestown needs to recycle more of its used materials

I read with great interest the article in The Sun about the recycling center. My first comment to Ralph Friebel and company is thank you for giving us a clean, organized, lighted, friendly place to recycle. Jamestown needs a place to recycle and we all need to participate.

I read with great interest the article in The Sun about the recycling center. My first comment to Ralph Friebel and company is thank you for giving us a clean, organized, lighted, friendly place to recycle. Jamestown needs a place to recycle and we all need to participate.

I have recycled at home and in our office for several years — recycling has cut my garbage in half in both places. Landfills are very expensive so I want to do my part to save us all the money needed to build another one—and also to keep our environment cleaner and greener.

If you are not a recycler you may not realize the multitude of items that are being recycled: paper, cardboard, glass, tin, aluminum, cereal and pop boxes, clothing and more. Stop at the center and see for yourself, then please join me Jamestown. Let’s all reduce, reuse and recycle.
