One dead, one injured after train-SUV crash

Authorities say an Aberdeen teenager is dead and another woman critically injured after the sport-utility vehicle they were in collided with a train.

ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — Authorities say an Aberdeen teenager is dead and another woman critically injured after the sport-utility vehicle they were in collided with a train.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol said 15-year-old Shelby Linder died in the crash about two miles east of Bath on Friday morning.

Linder was a passenger in a car driven by 37-year-old Darla Beaman of Bath. Beaman suffered life-threatening injuries in the 7:53 a.m. crash.
