Culpepper ruled out of preseason finale

Lions’ quarterback Daunte Culpepper has been ruled out of playing in Detroit’s preseason finale against Buffalo because of a foot injury.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Lions’ quarterback Daunte Culpepper has been ruled out of playing in Detroit’s preseason finale against Buffalo because of a foot injury.

Rookie No. 1 draft pick Matthew Stafford had already been slated to start the game Thursday night. Culpepper would have been the backup. He cut the top of his foot at home on Saturday.

Stafford is to get about 25 snaps before being replaced by Brooks Bollinger.
