It has been a very slow process getting the Pelican Point campground whipped back into shape after this year’s flood. Thanks to the efforts of the “tenant” Laura Beth and her faithful crew, slowly but surely the grounds are being renovated.

The tasks include: the removal of debris, cleaning up the remnants of the existing facilities, mowing, trimming branches and dead trees, arranging for a building with electricity to temporarily replace the “Snack Shack” so an answering machine could be hooked up that would accommodate the number of calls for inquiries and reservations, weeds sprayed and killed, cleaning fire pits and emptying garbage barrels.

Thank you for your efforts. Hopefully Stutsman County will get a jump on the 2010 camping year and get a new building in place very soon so the next season won’t be such a terrible waste of a beautiful local favorite.
