It was a good season opener for the Jamestown College women’s cross country team.
Katie Conlon, Alyssa Bossler and Emmlyn Bentley ran to Top-10 finishes at the Greenwood Run on Friday in Bemidji, Minn.
Competing against three NCAA Division II teams, the Jimmies finished second in the season’s first competition. The University of Mary finished with a low score of 30, followed by JC (46), Minnesota State-Moorhead (57) and host Bemidji State (106).
Conlon, a sophomore from Jamestown, covered the 5K course in 18:58.91, coming in second overall. MSUM’s Anna VanWechel won the individual title in 18:31.28.
Bossler, a senior from Helena, Mont., came in sixth. She finished in 19:20.78.
Bentley, a junior from Lewistown, Mont., ran 19:49.23 to come in ninth.
Three other Jimmies finished in the top 20.
Cambrya Belter (20:24.20), Madey Hornung (20:29.03) and Ashleigh Anderson (20:59.58) finished 14-15-16 for JC.
The Jimmies are back in action on Friday, Sept. 18 at the University of North Dakota Ron Pynn Invitational.
