Backer, Kastet

Brandi Backer and Tyler Kastet, both Bismarck, N.D., announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

Parents of the couple are Elden and Deb Backer, Jamestown, and Terri Kastet, Montpelier, N.D., and Don Kastet, Ypsilanti, N.D.

Backer’s grandparents are Joyce Bolme, Jamestown and the late Don Bolme, and the late Dick and Leona Backer.

Kastet’s grandparents are Glenice Kastet, Ypsilanti, and the late LeRoy “Bud” Kastet, and Jean Brown, Jamestown, and the late Floyd Brown.

Backer is a 2004 graduate of Jamestown High School, Jamestown, and a 2009 graduate of Jamestown College, Jametown, with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is employed by St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck, as a registered nurse.

Kastet is a 2001 graduate of Montpelier High School, Montpelier. He works in land reclamation at Falkirk Mine, Falkirk, N.D.

A Sept. 19 wedding is planned at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown.
