New Miss Indian Nations crowned

A McLaughlin, S.D., woman is the new Miss Indian Nations. Jennifer Mellette was crowned the 17th Miss Indian Nations during the recent International Powwow at United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck.

BISMARCK (AP) — A McLaughlin, S.D., woman is the new Miss Indian Nations.

Jennifer Mellette was crowned the 17th Miss Indian Nations during the recent International Powwow at United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck.

Mellette is a member of the Standing Rock Sioux tribe. She is a junior at Northern State University majoring in political science and criminal justice.
