22 charged in meth ring in Wells County

Twenty-two people face drug charges in Wells County after an investigation that spanned several years.

FESSENDEN, N.D. (AP) — Twenty-two people face drug charges in Wells County after an investigation that spanned several years.

State's Attorney Kathleen Trosen says the charges have been filed since midsummer, and the list of suspects could grow. She says some might face charges in other counties.

The suspects are from various places, from New Rockford to Fargo. The man accused of leading the methamphetamine ring is Michael Tresenriter (TREZ'-uhn-RY'-tur) of Cathay. He faces 21 counts of conspiracy to manufacture meth, along with terrorizing and other charges. He has not yet entered pleas.

Trosen says she has no estimate on the amount of drugs involved, but she says a number of county and state law enforcement agencies have been part of the investigation.
