MINOT (AP) — She almost made it to the hospital.

Jennie Goodwin’s new baby was not due for another week. On Monday morning, she realized Molly was not about to wait.

Goodwin lives at the Minot Air Force Base and her husband is deployed to Iraq. Her birthing coach picked her up and headed for the hospital.

They made it to the Trinity Hospital emergency room parking lot, where Molly was born in the back seat of the car at 11:30 a.m.

Goodwin said that by the time the doctors came running out, the healthy 6-pound, 12-ounce baby girl was ready for them to hold.

She planned to introduce Molly to her father via the Internet.
