JRFD puts out grass fire

The Jamestown Rural Fire Department responded to a grass fire about 4 miles south of the North Dakota State Hospital Thursday.

The Jamestown Rural Fire Department responded to a grass fire about 4 miles south of the North Dakota State Hospital Thursday.

The fire was reported as a controlled burn that got out of control, said Rick Woehl, assistant fire chief. No property was lost.

The call was reported around 11:20 a.m. and four firefighters in two units were on scene for about 10 minutes, he said.

No injuries were reported.
