Fargo apartment fire kills one man

One person is dead in an apartment building fire in Fargo. Assistant Fire Chief Steve Balstad says the blaze happened late Wednesday and was confined to a corner apartment on the building’s third floor.

FARGO (AP) — One person is dead in an apartment building fire in Fargo.

Assistant Fire Chief Steve Balstad says the blaze happened late Wednesday and was confined to a corner apartment on the building’s third floor.

Fire Capt. Randy Weiss said the man who died was found outside his apartment in the hallway. Weiss says the man died as a result of the fire. Authorities did not immediately release his name.

Weiss said the cause of the fire is still being investigated. Damage to the building is estimated at $80,000.
