Lions sell Buffalo Feed tickets

The Jamestown Lions Club met Sept. 16. The meeting was called to order by Vice President Mike Vettel. Lion Dwaine Heinrich reported on the Buffalo Feed ticket sales: There are 230 left to be sold. Ticket money will need to be turned in to Mitzi Hagar, treasurer. Anyone needing additional tickets may contact Heinrich at 952-2250.

Fran Romsdal introduced Jerry Rexine as a new member. Shelley Nannenga introduced Dan Kunzman, executive director of the Anne Carlsen Center. Kunzman presented a slide show titled “The lives we touch 2008-2009.” He spoke about different events such as the flood and thanked the community for help provided to the center.

Gary Speidel reminded members that the annual blood drive will be from noon to 6 p.m. Dec. 16 and from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 17.

The eyeglass collection needs to be delivered to Minot or the annual convention in October. The club has collected 4,000 pairs.

Bell ringing for the Salvation Army was discussed, but no dates set up.

Nannenga passed around a copy of the Buffalo Feed poster. They are available to post in area businesses.

The club’s next regular meeting will be at 6 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Continental Bistro.
