Crews razing Fargo ramp

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Crews are starting to raze a downtown Fargo parking ramp that was closed after an inspection found it unsafe.
The city-owned US Bank parking ramp was closed Aug. 5.
Crews put up a security fence around the site Monday and removed glass panes from a skyway over the ramp. That section of skyway, which connects to the Radisson Hotel, will be out of service until early next year.
Paul Diederich with West Fargo-based Industrial Builders Inc. says the crushed concrete from the ramp will be recycled into material for roads and parking lots, while the steel will go to a salvage yard.
The project, which includes replacing the ramp with an asphalt parking lot, should be done by mid-November at a cost of about $450,000.
