FARGO (AP) — A Harwood man has been sentenced to six months in jail for hitting a Fargo woman riding a bicycle and then fleeing.
Thirty-nine-year-old Troy Greenlund pleaded guilty to a felony for leaving the scene of an accident. If he successfully completes 18 months of probation following his jail term, the charge will be reduced to a misdemeanor. He also was fined $500 and ordered to undergo a chemical dependency evaluation.
Greenlund eventually turned himself in after the crash, and later admitted he struck Jennifer Walla on a Cass County road north of Harwood the night of Aug. 29. She was treated for a concussion and a twisted ankle.
Greenlund already is on probation for a year for driving under the influence while accompanied by a minor, a charge to which he pleaded guilty in late July.
