Wolves, Wildfire remain No. 1 in polls

The Wolves (6-0) got all 11 first-place votes in Class A, with Velva (6-0) at No. 2. The top five remained unchanged this week, with Harvey (5-1) still at No. 5.
Linton-HMB (5-1) and Oakes (6-0), who square off on Friday night in Linton, received votes.
The Wildfire (6-0) got 10 of 11 first-place votes in nine-man, with No. 2 Wyndmere-Lidgerwood (6-0) getting one first-place vote. The top four teams in the rankings were the same as last week, with New Rockford-Sheyenne (5-1) at No. 3 and Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter (5-1) at No. 4.
Wells County (5-1) received votes.
The season’s fifth North Dakota Class A and nine-man football polls as compiled by The Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association. Each team is followed by first-place votes in parentheses, records, total points and last week’s ranking.
