Sobriety checkpoint scheduled Saturday
A sobriety checkpoint will be conducted in Morton County from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 10. The Morton County Sheriff’s Office and North Dakota Highway Patrol will conduct the checkpoint.

The checkpoint is an effort to deter impaired driving.
In 2009 there have been 23 fatalities in the southwest region of North Dakota. Alcohol has been a contributing factor in more than 40 percent of fatalities statewide. Many of the crashes occur on rural state and county roads.
