Kindred faces bus driver shortage

KINDRED, N.D. (AP) — Illness has led to a recent shortage of bus drivers in the Kindred School District, so superintendent Steve Hall is getting behind the wheel.
Two of the rural district’s eight bus drivers were out sick recently. That left some buses without drivers on morning and afternoon routes, and Hall stepped up.
He said it’s times like that when everyone has to chip in.
With winter approaching, there’s sure to be more staff shortages at Kindred. But Hall’s looking on the bright side. He said filling in for others gets him out of the office and doing different things.
