Grand Forks parking ramp being closed

A parking ramp near the Grand Forks County Office Building is being closed for about a month for a renovation project.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A parking ramp near the Grand Forks County Office Building is being closed for about a month for a renovation project.

The three-level ramp being closed Thursday has drainage problems that officials say have led to ponding and icing and created safety issues. The fix will cost about $89,000.

The ramp has about 300 parking spaces, including a mix of public spots and reserved slots for county employees.

County Administrator Ed Nierode (nee-ROH'-dee) is urging people to use public transportation.
