GF teachers to vote on contract
Grand Forks teachers are to vote Wednesday on whether to accept a contract offered by the school board.
GRAND FORKS (AP) — Grand Forks teachers are to vote Wednesday on whether to accept a contract offered by the school board.
Business Manager Bill Hutchison said teachers would get a 4.4 percent salary increase this year and another 4.8 percent raise during the next school year.
The proposed contract is the result of months of negotiations. The most divisive issue was how long it should take for a teacher to get to the top of the earnings schedule.
Brad Srur, representative for the teachers, said it is likely they will approve the terms.
