Corps has three options for Fargo-area flood control

The Army Corps of Engineers has narrowed a list of possible flood control options for the Fargo-Moorhead area to three.

MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) — The Army Corps of Engineers has narrowed a list of possible flood control options for the Fargo-Moorhead area to three.

The corps says those alternatives include a diversion channel through Minnesota, a diversion channel through North Dakota and levees along the bank of the Red River.

The agency is holding meetings in the area this week to discuss the options. It plans to pick one of them in January and then to through a technical review before releasing a draft report next May.
