Two semitrailers swiped in Fargo

Authorities say two semitrailers were taken from a Fargo tire shop overnight and one of them was loaded with more than $50,000 worth of tires.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Authorities say two semitrailers were taken from a Fargo tire shop overnight and one of them was loaded with more than $50,000 worth of tires.

A driver discovered the trailers missing about 1 a.m. Wednesday. OK Tire Store warehouse foreman Mitch Nelson believes it was the work of an organized group that had been watching the business.

Nelson says both trailers were locked and the thieves apparently did not realize the second trailer was empty.

Police say similar crimes have been reported around the region.
