Lions donates to archery program
The Medina Lions Club is donating $250 to the archery program at Medina School as part of its ongoing support of youth activities in the community. The contribution was decided at the Oct. 19 meeting of the local Lions Club. The club also finalized its plans for the Halloween children’s party scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Medina City Auditorium. The party is sponsored annually by the Lions.

The club was informed that the Medina Fall Festival is featured in the current issue of the state Lions newspaper. The club is the underlying sponsor of the festival and organizes the Saturday noon meal at the City Auditorium. Mabel Cowell will serve as a delegate from the Medina club to the Lions’ State Convention in Bismarck.
The Medina Lions Club is donating to the North Dakota Lions Foundation this year to become a bronze level donor and is also working to become a 100 percent club in having each of its members become sustaining donors to the foundation. The club discussed updating the Lions Club signs on the interstate and incoming road to Medina. It also heard reports on the updating of the Chase Lake Foundation Web site (chaselakefoundation.com)and upcoming community meetings. The club also discussed programs for the fall and winter.
The club will have its next meeting at 7 a.m. Nov. 4 at the Medina Cafe. The winners of the Medina American Legion Constitution Oratorical Contest will be invited to present their winning speeches to the club. The November evening meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 16.
