N.D. may get disaster loans

The U.S. Small Business Administration says it’s making low-interest federal disaster loans available to some in northeastern North Dakota affected by heavy snow, rain and flooding earlier this year.

ATLANTA (AP) — The U.S. Small Business Administration says it’s making low-interest federal disaster loans available to some in northeastern North Dakota affected by heavy snow, rain and flooding earlier this year.

The SBA said small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives and most private nonprofit groups from Grand Forks, Pembina and Walsh counties are eligible to apply for the low-interest loans.

The loans are designed to speed recovery from damages caused by excessive snow, rain, flooding, flash flooding and unseasonably cool temperatures that occurred from April through June.

Eligible small businesses and nonprofit groups of all sizes may qualify for loans of up to $2 million.
