Miscommunication delays final decision on wind zoning fees

Miscommunications sidetracked a request Thursday from Just Wind to lower the application fee for a wind farm zoning permit in western Stutsman County.

The Stutsman County Zoning Commission did meet Thursday, but representatives of Just Wind were not present.

“It was an oversight on our part,” said Noel Johnson, chief operating officer for the county and zoning administrator. “We will reconsider the motion of today to give them the benefit of appearing.”

The new meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Whitney Room in the basement of the Stutsman County Courthouse.
