N.D. Blue Book honors military

North Dakota’s new Blue Book pays tribute to the state’s military and illustrates the state’s influence in energy production and agriculture.

BISMARCK (AP) — North Dakota’s new Blue Book pays tribute to the state’s military and illustrates the state’s influence in energy production and agriculture.

Secretary of State Al Jaeger unveiled the book’s newest edition Friday. It is published every two years and assembled with the help of 60 volunteers. It includes a DVD that duplicates the book’s content.

Jaeger said each of the book’s chapter title pages has a photo of North Dakota soldiers.

The Blue Book compiles statistical and historical information that often isn’t available elsewhere. One of the features of the newest edition is a list of ballot measures that North Dakotans have voted on since statehood.

The softcover book is being sold for $20 at the North Dakota Heritage Center’s museum store, and it can also be ordered through the store’s Web site.
