Babysitter’s Training set in Edgeley

The Lighthouse in Edgeley is sponsoring Babysitter’s Training by the American Red Cross for youth ages 11-15 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 11. Students will need to bring a sack lunch. Class size is limited so those planning to attend should signup early by calling the Buffalo Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross at 252-3550.

Babysitter’s Training was designed to be fun and fast-paced with hands-on activities, video, role-plays and discussion. Students learn basic child care skills such as diapering, feeding and dressing; handle bedtime and discipline issues; care for common injuries and emergencies such as choking, burns, cuts and bee stings; identify safety hazards and prevent injuries; how to choose safe, age-appropriate games and toys; and communicate effectively with parents.
