Roadway repairs and reconstruction of streets damaged by dike construction and removal is scheduled to begin Monday in Jamestown and will continue for the next two to four weeks, weather permitting.
This work will be performed in the following areas and is expected to be done in the order listed:
* Seventh Street Northwest and Seventh Street Loop;
* 11th Street Northwest to 10th Street Northwest to First Avenue North to just beyond 13th Street Northwest;
* 18th Street Southeast from State Hospital Road west to the end, inclusive of intersection at Ninth Avenue Southeast; and
* Seventh Street Southwest in the 400 block.
The contractor has been asked to work in the order noted above but city officials said that due to weather, time and equipment constraints, work may occur in two or more areas at the same time.
With the colder weather and the shorter “daylight” hours, the intensity and speed of the work performed by the contractor will increase to try to take advantage of favorable conditions. City officials are asking for the public’s patience as the contractor does the work.
City officials said they do not believe additional repairs will be possible, but if the good weather holds, the list may be expanded to include other areas that need street repairs. If that occurs, the city will notify the public.
