Flood control hearings set in Bismarck
U.S. Senate field hearings are being held in Bismarck to look at options for permanent flood control in Bismarck-Mandan and Mercer and Emmons counties.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — U.S. Senate field hearings are being held in Bismarck to look at options for permanent flood control in Bismarck-Mandan and Mercer and Emmons counties.
The hearings at the Bismarck City Commission Chamber will be overseen by Sen. Byron Dorgan, chairman of the Senate's energy and water appropriations subcommittee.
The hearing on Bismarck-Mandan flood control is set for Wednesday night. Flood control in Emmons and Mercer counties will be the topic Thursday morning.
Dorgan, D-N.D., says those invited to testify include local officials and Col. Robert Ruch, commander of the Army Corps of Engineers Omaha District.
