First Baptist Church in Jamestown will begin its annual Harvest Banquet at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Every year the church gathers to hear a missionary guest speaker, eat a meal, listen to music and raise funds for the upcoming year.

Denny Repko, a missionary with Navigators for more than 50 years, will be the speaker this year. Repko grew up in Jamestown and attended First Baptist as a young man.

Funds raised during the banquet will help the church in three areas: the Web site, children’s ministry and small group ministries.

First Baptist recently added a new Web site to its outreach ministry. Online sermons will be available as well as church information and upcoming events.

First Baptist also plans to do remodeling that will expand its nursery and toddler Sunday morning ministries, as well as starting new studies that will happen in smaller groups apart from Sunday mornings.

The Rev. Wayne Bangs is First Baptist’s senior pastor.

First Baptist is located at 409 Third Ave. S.E.
