Letter to the editor: Speak up to protect babies who are born prematurely

I’m writing as the mother of three and a concerned citizen to urge all readers to join the fight for the more than 500,000 babies born too soon in the U.S. each year.

I’m writing as the mother of three and a concerned citizen to urge all readers to join the fight for the more than 500,000 babies born too soon in the U.S. each year. One in eight babies is born prematurely and millions of children face serious health challenges or have trouble learning in school because they were born too soon. More newborns die from premature birth than any other cause.
