Age-enhanced photo produced of missing girl

Minot authorities have produced an age-enhanced photograph of Reachelle Smith, who disappeared three years ago when she was 3 years old. Police Sgt. MINOT (AP) — Minot authorities have produced an age-enhanced photograph of Reachelle Smith, who disappeared three years ago when she was 3 years old.

Police Sgt. Jason Sundbakken said the picture combines photographs of a younger Reachelle with photos of her father and mother at her age in an effort to show what a 7-year-old Reachelle might look like.

The girl was last seen May 16, 2006, when she went to bed in her Minot home. She was reported missing six days later by her aunt, the child’s legal guardian.

Reachelle was believed to have been with Leigh Cowen, a man wanted on a parole violation who had been living with Smith. Cowen’s body was found May 23, 2006, in a van on a wildlife refuge northwest of Minot. Authorities said he apparently killed himself. They found no trace of Reachelle.

The enhanced picture was produced with the help of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
