Agreement filed in water lawsuit

A settlement agreement has been filed in a dispute about a water contract in the Minot area.

MINOT (AP) — A settlement agreement has been filed in a dispute about a water contract in the Minot area.

A document filed in federal court would allow the North Prairie Rural Water District to provide water service to the Enbridge pipeline and the community of Surrey. A judge has not ruled on the agreement.

The North Prairie district and the Northcentral Rural Water Consortium had sued the city of Minot in April, alleging the city failed to abide by a water contract.

The agreement calls for Minot to pay the two water systems $15,000.
