Letter to the editor: Recycling center should try extra drop-off locations

After reading about efforts to increase the amount of materials brought to Renaissance Recycling (The Jamestown Sun, Nov. 24), I was wondering if the placement of recycling bins at the major grocery stores in Jamestown has been considered. This would be more cost effective than curbside pickup and would be more convenient for rural customers. The newer styles of bins reduce litter and the amount of sorting required by the recyclers. Some bins are mounted on trailers (for example, www.haulall.com /trailer/htm), so that no special trucks are needed. We appreciate and support the recycling efforts in Jamestown and our local communities.
