A Jamestown woman struck a tree after she allegedly drove home intoxicated, according to the Jamestown Police De-partment.

Police said Kristina Blythe, 21, 1510 11th Ave. N.E. #6, was driving a 2004 Pontiac passenger car to her apartment from a downtown bar around 12:20 a.m. Nov. 25. She was driving north on Fifth Avenue Northeast when she tried to negotiate the curve at the 1200 block and lost control.

Blythe continued northbound while the vehicle slid sideways facing east. The car struck the curb at 12th Street Northeast. The Pontiac came to rest facing east with the rear end in the branches of an evergreen tree, police said.

Blythe left the scene of the crash and continued east on 13th Street Northeast where officers spotted the vehicle’s rear end dragging on the roadway.

Police cited Blythe for care required, driving under the influence, open container of alcohol, failure to give immediate notice of an accident and failure to stop and remain at the scene of an accident.

The Pontiac sustained $5,500 in damage.

Blythe told police she was unsure if she was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
