Storm watch: 4 to 8 inches of snow possible in Jamestown area

The low-pressure system is still over the Pacific Ocean but the National Weather Service has already issued a winter storm watch for much of North Dakota beginning Thursday. The weather system, if it follows its anticipated track, could bring the first shot of severe winter weather of the season to the Jamestown area.

Company offering water line insurance

Jamestown residents will soon be receiving mailings from American Water Resources offering insurance covering the cost of repairs for service lines between water mains and their homes. The company offering the insurance is not affiliated with the city of Jamestown, according to Reed Schwartzkopf, city engineer.

It was New Year’s babies times two at Jamestown Regional Medical Center on Tuesday. Amy Stegmiller delivered an 8-pound, 9-ounce baby boy about 1 p.m. It was the second child for Amy and her husband, Wes, of Jamestown. The couple named their son Joshua.
