The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the names of two people killed Tuesday evening in a rollover crash north of Jamestown and other details about the crash.

Nighthawks stay alive at R8

Hettinger-Mott-Regent Scranton ended the seasons of Central Prairie and Kidder County at the Region 8 baseball tournament on Tuesday in Steele. The Nighthawks topped Central Prairie 8-6 behind a fast start that saw them get up 7-0 in the first two innings. McCahen Schweitzer got the win. Central Prairie was led by Thaddeus Owen’s 2-for-3 performance. Starter Chris Heinrich suffered the loss.

Kidder County splits at R8

Ryan Sand stifled Central Prairie with a two-hit shutout at the Region 8 baseball tournament on Monday in Steele. Sand went the distance, walking two and striking out 15 batters to lift fourth-seeded Kidder County to a 7-0 win over No. 5-seed Central Prairie in opening-round action. The Pirates broke open a scoreless contest with a five-run fifth. They got two more in the seventh. Jayden Miller finished 2-for-3 with a triple and three runs batted in.

One person injured in two-car crash

One person was injured following a Saturday car crash, according to the Jamestown Police Department. The accident happened around 4:40 p.m. on the 100 block of Fifth Street Northeast.

Spike strip deployed to stop driver

A 43-year-old Wisconsin man was spike stripped by law enforcement, after he refused to stop on Interstate 94, according to Cpl. Brian Miller, dispatch supervisor at the Law Enforcement Center.
