Carlson sets school record

North Dakota State University’s Whitney Carlson was at her best Saturday at the U.S. Track and Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa. The junior jumper broke her own school record in the senior women’s long jump with a leap of 21 feet, 2 1/2 inches, beating her old mark by one inch.
