Care needed in writing farm bill
The heady boom of oil production in western North Dakota has overshadowed what also has been a very good time for agriculture. Net farm income nationwide is expected to be more than 30 percent higher than in 2009, and 26 percent higher than the 10-year average that began in 2000.
