N.D. small grains harvest still behind
The harvest of small grains in North Dakota remains well behind the average pace despite a week of mostly favorable weather. The Agriculture Department said in its weekly crop and weather report that about 6 percent of the state’s staple crop, spring wheat, is in the bin, compared to 34 percent on average. Only 1 percent of durum wheat, 4 percent of oats and 9 percent of the barley crop are harvested, all well behind average.
