Letter to the editor: Catholic leaders wrong to attack contraception

As a Libertarian I find it difficult to decide whether to support President Barack Obama’s plan to provide free contraceptives for women. We don’t like government mandates. Nor does birth control seem a federal responsibility. Still, there are legitimate and practical reasons for supporting it as a national policy. Contraceptives do improve the health and quality of life of women while also addressing the problem of overpopulation.
