Berg mailings cost $190,000

Newly published U.S. House records show North Dakota Rep. Rick Berg spent almost $190,000 last year on official mailings that Democrats and a Republican rival have described as campaign flyers sent at taxpayer expense. The information is included in a report on House members’ office spending for O c t o b e r t h ro u g h December. The mailing costs are 15 percent of Berg’s $1.24 million office operating budget for last year.
