Shotgun was loaded during incident
The story “Witnesses describe events of 2010 shooting” on Page A1 in Friday’s Sun requires clarification. The story said Arnie Rummel, North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation special agent, testified that a shotgun dropped by Michael Partlow was not loaded but had two unfired shells next to it when he recovered it during the investigation. The shotgun was unloaded because, as police officers testified earlier in Partlow’s trial, three shells had been removed from the gun shortly after the incident, in which Partlow was shot by the officers when he pointed the gun at them.
