Democracy essay contest available

Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D., is encouraging North Dakota students in grades 6-12 to enter the 2012 Making Democracy Work Student Essay Contest. Sponsored by the U.S. Capitol Historical Society, this year’s essay topic is “Examining the role of informed citizens in making the American system of representative self-government work.”
