Opportunity, community bring back North Dakota native

Rick Karboviak hated to leave his native North Dakota when he struck out for Ohio with dollar signs in his eyes. It was seven years ago, when he was managing an athletic club in Cooperstown. Two years earlier, in 2002, he was elected mayor at the age of 25, possibly that town’s youngest.
