Measure would bump tax for cigarettes
A North Dakota lawmaker and former smoker wants to increase the state’s cigarette tax from 44 cents a pack to $1 as a deterrent. Tax analysts estimate the measure could swell North Dakota’s treasury by about $30 million annually, but Rep.
