Makoti-area man killed in home fire

The Ward County Sheriff’s Department said the body of an 82-year-old man was found in his burned-out farm home north of Makoti. The body of Ole Running was found Wednesday, after someone driving by the house saw flames. An investigator said a relative of Runnings had talked to him Wednesday, when he said he was cooking a pheasant. The fire was still smoldering two days later. The cause is under investigation.
