S.D. Senate kills bill to scrap campus gun rules
Public universities in South Dakota should be able to prevent students from carrying guns on campus, the South Dakota Senate ruled. The Senate voted 25-10 to kill SB82, which would have barred the governing boards of the state’s public universities and technical institutes from imposing any restrictions on firearms on their campuses. Supporters of the bill said students have a constitutional right to possess firearms.By: By Terry Woster , The Associated Press , The Jamestown Sun
