GC, Tarno win

Grace City never trailed, while the Jamestown Tarno Tigers dug out of an early hole on the opening day of the state amateur tournament at Jack Brown Stadium. Curt Jacobson spun a three-hit shutout as Grace City sailed through Mantador 6-0 in the Class A opener. In AA action, the Tarno Tigers trailed 5-3 after two innings, but scored 11 of the last 13 runs of the game to beat the Edgeley All-Stars 14-7. Grace City 6, Mantador 0 Jacobson allowed next to nothing in the first game Thursday at Jack Brown Stadium.
