Fighting Sioux: Board seeks meeting with tribe

Bill Goetz, chancellor of the North Dakota University System, is seeking a meeting with the chairman of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe to talk about UND’s Fighting Sioux nickname. In a letter dated Friday, Goetz asked Chairman Charles W. Murphy to meet with him and representation from the State Board of Higher Education sometime before the board’s Nov. 19 meeting.
